The Aberdares national park provides a habitat for elephants, black rhinos, leopards, spotted hyenas, olive baboons, black and white colobus monkeys, buffaloes, warthogs and bush bucks among others. Rare sightings include those of the Giant Forest hog, bongo, golden cat, serval cat, African wild cat, African civet cat and the blue duiker. The tour also takes you to The Great Rift Valley for flamingos and finally to maasai mara game reserve to view the annual wildebeest migration.
Day 1: Nairobi – Aberdares National park
Our safari driver guide will collect you from your Nairobi hotel in the morning and depart to Aberdare National Park. Afternoon game viewing is from your lodge: The Ark Lodge, historical famous for wildlife viewing is better than from any other facility in this park due to corrosion. Your accommodation is in the heart of the Aberdare National Park, iconic and yes, quirky. The Ark overlooks a floodlit waterhole and salt lick, which attracts a host of awesome wildlife. Resembling and named after Noah’s Ark, The Ark comprises of three decks from which numerous balconies and lounges provide a superb location for wildlife to be seen. So that you don’t miss any animal sightings, the night guard will buzz your room when special animals come to the waterhole.
Day 2: Aberdare National park to Lake Nakuru National park
After breakfast you head to Lake Nakuru National Park, with a short stop at the Thomson Falls arriving in Lake Nakuru in time for a game drive, followed by lunch at the Lake Nakuru Sarova Lion Hill Lodge. Afternoon safari game viewing drive in Lake Nakuru will be followed by dinner and overnight at the Lake Sarova Lion Hill Lodge.
Day 3: Lake Nakuru to Maasai Mara Game Reserve
After breakfast check out of Lake Nakuru Lodge, then with an exit game drive, head south to the Masai Mara National Reserve. Your journey will take you through the Great Rift Valley, arriving at mara sopa lodge with en-route game viewing in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive to explore the famous Masai Mara home to Africa’s Big Five Game – Lion, Buffalo, Elephant, Rhino and Leopard among other plains game a wide variety of birds. Dinner and overnight at a Masai Mara safari lodge.
Day 4: Maasai Mara Game Reserve
After breakfast your day will begin with a game viewing extravaganza! Maasai Mara Game Reserve remains the most exciting wildlife eco-system in the natural world. This park is host to the highest and most varied concentration of wild animals than any other wildlife park in the region. The scenic appeal of the tree studded savannah plains, the moderate climate and diversity of wild game species makes it a one stop shop for game viewing and walking safaris. You will take off on a full day of unlimited game drive encountering the “Big Five” and more of the lesser game. You will enjoy a picnic lunch by the Mara River where you can watch hippo and crocodile or maybe even the great migration during the peak seasons. Your overnight stay will be at your preferred accommodation based on the cost outlined. Here you will have dinner and your overnight stay.
Day 5: Maasai Mara Game Reserve- Nairobi
After breakfast you will depart Maasai Mara Game Reserve enjoying a morning game drive on your way back to Nairobi. Upon arrival you will enjoy dinner a Carnivore restaurant – you only pay for your tea/coffee or soft drinks. Your journey will then end at the airport in good time for your flight home. This is where your safari will end.
